The Molecular Connectivity Working Group is delighted to announce its second Symposium with the title “What is brain connectivity?”.
The symposium aims to identify a common denominator in the definition of macroscale brain connectivity across fMRI, DWI, EEG, and molecular connectivity. The event is supposed to provide a baseline for follow-up debates on standardized nomenclature for molecular connectivity.
.
The symposium is taking place on May 3rd (9:00-13:00 CEST) and is open to everyone, prior registration. The symposium is part of a larger event continuing till May the 4th titled “Molecular Imaging of Brain Connectivity: towards standardized nomenclature”, with some sessions reserved exclusively for MCWG members and designated experts.
Places are limited. Please register now to secure a spot. In person registrations are CLOSED. Few places are available to register virtually. There are no registration fees.
To facilitate access to early career researchers (PhD students or Post-docs) to our annual event on 3-4 May 2024 in Munich, the Molecular Connectivity Working Group (MCWG) will award eight (three dedicated to MCWG members) travel bursaries this year. The bursary – up to 500€ depending on travel costs – is intended to cover transport (economy/2nd class) and accommodation costs. The payment will be made upon presentation of invoices after the symposium. The recipients of the bursaries will be invited to attend the entire event covering the open-access symposium titled “What is brain connectivity?” and the sessions exclusively reserved for MCWG members and experts titled “Molecular Imaging of Brain Connectivity: towards standardized nomenclature”.
The eligibility criteria are:
The following information will be requested on the application form:
Before submitting the application, candidates must first register for the event using the following link: https://forms.gle/rtLwCtsWk2XsCL6NA .
The application (use this template) should be submitted via email to the following email address: admin@molecularconnectivity.com until March 31, 2024, 23:59 CEST.
Applications will be reviewed by the symposium council of the MCWG. Where a conflict of interest exists between the Council member and applicant, a non-conflicted member of the larger MCWG will be invited to review the application. For the purposes of this award, a conflict of interest is defined as employment or completion of a degree at the applicants’ institution, or co-publication with the applicant (excluding co-authorship due to membership of large consortia like ENIGMA or ADNI). The committee will consider eligibility criteria and select recipients based on merit and need, with consideration given to gender equity and diversity. Priority will be given to applicants from countries with limited financial resources for scientific research and/or travel. Applicants will be notified via email of the selection decision by the beginning of April 2024.
We would like to thank our sponsors for their support!
